Terms of sale for King Cirox 2 Phinisi open trips and private charters

Updated 11 October 2026

Pay 50 per cent to secure a bunk, a cabin or the whole boat, and the rest 30 days before you sail. Cancel 60 days out and 50 per cent comes back. If the boat is held in port, you get a phinisi of the same class or higher, or a full refund within 14 days. Park fees sit outside every fare.

Who sells the trip, and which terms apply

Your contract is with PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, the Indonesian company that sells every trip on King Cirox 2 Phinisi: open-trip bunks and cabins, and the whole boat on a private charter. These terms apply to both, from the first written quote to the morning you step off in Labuan Bajo.

Every booking made here follows the same terms, whatever the cabin, the trip length or the date.

A booking exists once three things are true: you have a written quote naming the boat, the dates, the cabin or charter length and the fare; you have an invoice from the operator; and the deposit has arrived. Until then, a date held in a chat is a courtesy, not a reservation.

Every fare is in rupiah and includes 11 per cent VAT. A price shown in another currency is a guide only; the invoice amount in rupiah is the one that counts.

The deposit, the balance and the payment link

The booking is confirmed when 50 per cent of the fare arrives. The remainder falls due 30 days ahead of departure, and a booking made inside those 30 days is paid in one go.

Accepted: a rupiah bank transfer, Wise, Revolut, Alipay, QRIS, a card payment link, PayPal, and WeChat Pay processed by a partner. PayPal carries a 7.2 per cent surcharge; card-link fees, where they apply, are shown on the invoice before you pay. The table below sets out each method.

About a week before sailing we need each guest's name spelled exactly as in the passport, with the passport number, to register park tickets on SiOra and to fill the harbour's e-boarding manifest. A name that does not match the passport can stop a guest at the gangway, and that is not a cancellation by us.

Open-trip seats for 2027 sell at today's fare list, since 2027 open-trip fares have not been published. Should the fare move before your balance falls due, you hear it from us first and can withdraw without charge.

Cancelling or moving a date

Refunds follow the calendar, whatever the reason for cancelling:

  • 60 days or more before departure: 50 per cent of what you paid comes back.
  • Between 30 and 59 days: 25 per cent.
  • 29 days or fewer: no refund.

Moving the date is cheaper than cancelling. With 30 days or more to go, a move to a date with space is free. From 29 to 14 days, the move costs IDR 500,000. With 13 days or fewer to go, a change of date is treated as a cancellation and the table above applies.

Any refund we owe is paid within 14 days. If we cancel a trip for a reason of our own, you receive everything you paid.

Travel insurance that covers cancellation, medical care and evacuation is strongly recommended. These tiers do not bend for illness or a missed flight, and insurance is the instrument that does.

If the boat cannot sail

If King Cirox 2 cannot sail on your dates, because of a breakdown or because the harbour master or the park orders it to stay in port, you sail on the same dates aboard a phinisi of the same class or higher, at no extra cost. Decline the substitute and the whole amount comes back within 14 days. The decision is yours.

An open-trip departure sails once at least four cabins are booked. If a date does not reach four, the guests booked on it move to a phinisi of the same class or higher on the same dates at no extra cost, or receive a full refund within 14 days.

Sailing permits are issued by the harbour master, KSOP Labuan Bajo, and park access by the Komodo National Park authority. Their orders bind every boat. When a whole closure falls on your dates and no boat may leave, the full refund applies.

Short of a closure, stops can change without notice for weather, currents, park quotas or an order from the park or port. The captain sets the order of the day and may swap one site for another, such as Padar for Gili Lawa. A changed stop is part of the trip you booked, not a cancellation.

Overnight, the boat stays at anchor or under way, depending on the weather and the captain's decision that day.

Inside and outside the fare

Park entry and rangers are outside every fare, open trip and charter alike. The park's own regulation, PP 36/2024, sets the foreign day ticket at IDR 250,000; ranger and pier levies, the ranger charged per group, are paid separately and subject to change.

Private charters of any length exclude the local guide and the photo and video team; either can be added on request at a separate price. Open-trip fares include both.

Also outside the fare: flights, travel insurance, tips, personal spending and fins, which the boat does not carry. Any extra, from a HiAce upgrade to a beach dinner, is added only against a written quote you accept. Inside the fare, by contrast, are the meals the chef sends to the black glass-top table and the water from the dispenser beside it.

A child under 3 sails free when accompanied by a parent or guardian; a child aged 3 or over pays the full fare. A private cabin is sold for at least two paying guests; the per-bunk fare applies only to the four bunks in Gresik.

Conduct, governing law and complaints

The captain has the last word on safety, on board and in the water. A guest whose conduct endangers the boat, the crew, other guests or the park's wildlife can be landed at the next safe point, at the captain's decision. The same applies to breaking park rules ashore: walking without a ranger, feeding a dragon, flying a drone without a permit.

Indonesian law governs these terms, and any dispute is heard by the Indonesian courts.

Before any of that, write to sales@kingcirox.com with your booking name and what went wrong. A written answer settles most problems faster than any court. Keep it in the same thread you booked in, so the quote, the invoice and the reply sit in one place.

FAQ

Who decides when a stop on the route changes?

The captain, on the day, within any order from the harbour master or the park. A swap, Padar for Gili Lawa for instance, is part of the trip you booked and does not count as a cancellation by us.

Which terms apply to my booking?

These ones. A booking made with PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia follows them: the 50 per cent deposit, the refund tiers and the replacement-boat guarantee.

Can a guest be put ashore for breaking park rules?

Yes. Walking a trail without a ranger, feeding a dragon or flying a drone without a permit breaks park rules, and the captain can land the guest at the next safe point. Separately, the park can fine anyone who enters without a ticket five times the ticket price.
