Komodo National Park fees on a King Cirox 2 trip: the sum per head, per day

Updated 11 October 2026

Park entry is paid on top of every King Cirox 2 fare. A foreign visitor's ticket is IDR 250,000 for each day in the park under PP 36/2024; an Indonesian citizen's is IDR 50,000 on a weekday and IDR 75,000 at the weekend. Rangers are charged per group. Tickets are sold online through SiOra, in your name, before you sail.

The ticket: one line per head, per day

Since 30 October 2024, Komodo National Park has charged under Government Regulation PP 36/2024, which replaced the older tariff. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000 per person for each day inside the park, the same figure on any day of the week. For Indonesian citizens it is IDR 50,000 Monday to Friday and IDR 75,000 on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

That one ticket covers the walking, the wildlife and the snorkelling. There is no separate snorkel ticket any more; a page that still lists one is quoting the old rules or a bundled price.

Two caveats, stated once. In April 2026 the forestry minister said a higher fee for foreign visitors was under study; no amount and no date have followed, and the table below shows the rate in force when we last checked. And because the figure lives in the park's regulation rather than in our fare, it can change after you book. If it does, the new rate applies to your ticket, and we tell you as soon as we know.

Working out your group's total

The arithmetic is short: guests, times days inside the park, times the rate. The table below does it for groups of two, four and ten over one, two and three days, so you can read your line rather than multiply.

The total moves with two details. First, how many park days a 3D2N counts depends on the third morning; the open-trip route ends with a beach and a snorkel at Seture before the return at 10:00 to 11:00, and the day count on your quote follows the route actually registered for your date. Second, nationality is per guest, not per group: a mixed couple pays one foreign and one domestic ticket.

Children are a third detail. The boat fare is waived under 3, but the park's tariff, as far as our data shows, has no child line for foreign visitors; each child's ticket therefore appears on the quote by name.

For a sense of scale, a solo guest in Gresik pays IDR 3,350,000 (≈ USD 206) for a bunk in a four-berth room, ikat cloth over each upper bunk, and then the park line on top.

The ticket alone is priced here, under PP 36/2024. Levies for rangers and for the pier are charged on top, and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays take the domestic weekend rate. Verified 10 October 2026.

Who pays, when, and where

You pay. The park ticket is never inside a King Cirox 2 fare, open trip or private charter.

Tickets are bought online through SiOra, the park's own system, and nowhere else: there is no cash desk at Komodo, Rinca or Padar. Each ticket is registered to one visitor by name and passport number. That is why we ask for every guest's name as written in the passport about a week before sailing; we enter them on SiOra for your date and show the park line on your quote as its own row.

Since April 2026 the park has capped visitors per day, across Komodo, Rinca, Padar and the nearby dive sites in timed sessions. Reports from late September 2026 give a lower figure for the last months of the year than the announcement earlier in the year did, so we check the live cap when we register you rather than quote a number here. The same reports say a visitor must enter on the date printed on the ticket, which is one more reason the date is fixed early.

Paying someone at the pier for a park ticket is not the system. Ask for the SiOra registration instead.

On top of the ticket

Four charges sit outside the entry ticket. Each is paid separately, and each can change.

  • Ranger. Required for every walk on Komodo, Rinca and Padar; charged per group of up to five, with a second ranger for a bigger group. No official tariff is published; the figures in circulation disagree, so we treat them as unverified.
  • Harbour or pier levy. A small per-person charge is sometimes added at Labuan Bajo. We found no regulation behind it. Unverified.
  • Drone. A levy per drone per day under PP 36/2024, plus a SIMAKSI entry permit through SiOra, applied for well ahead.
  • Commercial and pre-wedding shoots. The park prices organised photography and filming per package and location, a pre-wedding shoot included. Holiday photos on your own phone pay nothing extra.

Diving carries its own surcharge, but King Cirox 2 carries no compressor, so it does not apply here.

What every fare leaves out, in one list

All of it sits in one column, so nothing surprises you at the harbour.

  • Open trip, 3D2N from IDR 3,350,000 (≈ USD 206) or 2D1N from IDR 2,900,000 (≈ USD 178): park entry and the ranger are outside. Inside: the guide, and a crew filming on GoPro, mirrorless and drone.
  • Private charter, any length: park entry and rangers are outside, and so are the local guide and photo or video documentation, which we add on request at a separate price.
  • Every trip: flights, insurance, tips and personal spending are outside.

We concede the obvious: a fare that included the park would look simpler. We keep it separate because the park sets the price, can raise it by regulation and sells it only by name, and a bundled figure would hide those three facts from you. Better read here than on the pier.

Send your dates, guest count and nationalities, and the quote comes back with the park line already worked out.

FAQ

Is snorkelling charged separately inside Komodo National Park?

No. Under PP 36/2024 the IDR 250,000 daily entry ticket covers snorkelling; pages listing a separate snorkel fee are out of date.

Does a 3D2N count as three park days?

It depends on where the third morning is spent. The open-trip route visits Seture before returning between 10:00 and 11:00, and reports on whether a final morning counts as a park day disagree. Your quote states the day count for the route registered on SiOra, so you see the number before any of the 50 per cent changes hands.

Can I pay the park fee in cash at the ranger station?

No. Tickets are sold online through SiOra only, non-cash, registered to your name and passport number before you arrive. Entering without a ticket can bring a sanction of five times the IDR 250,000 daily tariff.

We want a pre-wedding shoot on Padar. Is there a park fee?

Yes, a separate one. PP 36/2024 prices organised pre-wedding photography and video per package and location, on top of each person's entry ticket. Tell us when you book, so the fee, the photographer and the location are on one written quote; a private charter on King Cirox 2 quotes the photographer separately in any case.

I live in Indonesia on a residence permit. Which rate do I pay?

The tariff tables we hold divide visitors into Indonesian citizens, at IDR 50,000 on weekdays, and foreign visitors, at IDR 250,000. They say nothing about residence permits, so send us your permit type and we check how SiOra classes it before quoting.
