Komodo boat trip guides: schedule, bag, children and wind on King Cirox 2
Updated 11 October 2026
Four guides for guests of King Cirox 2 Phinisi, built from the boat's booklets and the park's general season data. One explains the Monday and Friday sailing schedule, one lists what to bring aboard, one covers the decks and children, and one follows the wind seasons month by month.
Four guides, four questions
Each guide takes one question that arrives after the deposit and answers it with figures from this boat.
- The schedule: what a start date means, the minimum of four cabins, provisional 2027 dates and what can change a day.
- The bag: a soft bag, closed shoes, your own fins, rupiah, passport details and an adapter, set against what the boat already supplies.
- Decks and children: three levels joined by stairs, the bow nets, life jackets, children's fares and the Gresik bathroom.
- The wind seasons: the dry and wet months, the south-east wind, harbour suspensions and the deck that moves less.
None is long. Each closes with what to do next, whether that is sending a date, renting fins or choosing a main-deck door. If your case is not covered, message us with your booking date and the answer comes back in writing.

Where the facts come from
Three sources sit behind the figures, and each guide says which one it leans on.
The first is the boat's own paper: the 2026 and 2027 charter booklets, the open-trip booklet, the live rate and departure sheet and the official ship sketch. Cabin names, the facility list, routes, the pickup window and the minimum of four cabins come from there. Where a photo adds a detail, as with the life ring beside Kediri's windows, the guide says the detail is from the photo, because a photo shows one day and not the whole boat.
The second is general knowledge of the national park: seasons, sea ratings, trek times, park fees and the harbour rules. We label it as general. The third is our own estimates, mainly the minutes between stops, and only the Labuan Bajo to Kelor leg is verified. Where nothing is printed anywhere, a guide says not listed and stops there. The dates the guides apply to are below.
Open trips sail every Monday and Friday, except dates held by a private charter.
Which guide first?
Read in the order of your own trip. Before you have a date, start with the schedule. Once the deposit is paid, move to the bag. If children are coming, read the deck guide before you choose the cabin, because the cabin decides how many stairs lie between bed and dinner. If you are choosing a month, the wind guide comes before the date.
The guides are written for the 3D2N open trip, which leaves every Monday & Friday with a bunk from IDR 3,350,000 (≈ USD 206). Where the 2D1N or a private charter differs, the guide says so in a line of its own.
When you have read what applies, message us the date and the cabin. The fit list below puts the boat's limits in one place before you do.
Who this boat suits
- Solo travellers who want to pay for one bed: a Gresik bunk is sold on its own at IDR 3,350,000 (≈ USD 206), with no empty second place to cover.
- Couples who want a balcony: Malang has one, and Madiun adds a wooden bathtub in the open air.
- Families of four: Malang, Kediri and Madiun each take a double bed plus extra beds, and children under 3 travel free.
- Groups of up to 23 who take all 6 cabins of a 24.8 m phinisi with 6 crew as a private charter.
- Guests who need to stay reachable: Starlink Wi-Fi on board is printed in the boat's booklets, with no promise of speed.
Who it does not suit
- Divers who need tanks and a compressor aboard: this is a snorkel boat.
- Snorkellers who expect fins in the kit: the boat carries a mask and a snorkel only.
- Charter groups who need a private bathroom for every guest: Gresik's four bunks share one.
- Guests who need a lift or stabilisers: stairs join the two decks and the roof, and no stabilisers are listed.
Who this boat does not suit
- You book Gresik expecting a private cabin: it is a four-bunk room with a shared bathroom.
- You travel alone and want a private cabin at a one-person fare: private cabins are sold for two paying guests at least; your per-bed option is a Gresik bunk.
- You need an open-trip start on a day other than Monday or Friday: open-trip starts are Mondays and Fridays; sailings outside Monday and Friday run on request, so ask us on WhatsApp; and a few dates are taken by private charters.
FAQ
Are the guides written for the open trip or the private charter?
For the 3D2N open trip first, with a line wherever the 2D1N or a private charter differs.
Do the guides cover 2027?
Yes. They follow the cabins, facilities and routes in the booklets, the 2027 charter booklet included. 2027 open-trip dates are open at today's fare list. If the fare changes before your balance falls due, you hear it from us first and may cancel free of charge.
Where is the packing list?
In the bag guide: a soft bag, closed shoes for the ranger walks, reef-safe sunscreen, your own fins, rupiah, passport details, an adapter and your personal medicines, with what the boat already supplies beside them.
What if my question is not in a guide?
Send it with your booking date on WhatsApp and the answer comes back in the same thread. Where a fact is not printed in the boat's booklets, we say not listed rather than guess.
