How to book a Komodo boat trip with King Cirox 2: message, deposit, balance, pier
Updated 11 October 2026
Send one WhatsApp message with your date, headcount and the cabin or trip length you want. We reply with a written quote. Paying 50 per cent holds the bunk, cabin or boat, and the rest goes over 30 days before departure, by Wise, Revolut, PayPal, card link, QRIS, Alipay or bank transfer.
From the first message to the pier
One WhatsApp thread carries every step. First, you send the date, the number of guests, and either the cabin you want on the open trip or the trip length for a charter. Add children's ages and your flight times if you have them.
Second, we reply with a written quote. For the open trip it names the city on the door and the fare per person; for a charter it names the band, the extras and the park fees as separate lines. Anything you asked for beyond the fare, a HiAce, a beach dinner, a photographer, is quoted in the same message or not at all.
Third, you pay the deposit of 50 per cent. The bunk, cabin or boat is then yours for those dates, and the confirmation arrives in the same thread with the balance date written on it.
Fourth, the balance goes over 30 days before departure, passport details follow a week before sailing, and you land in Labuan Bajo the day before to wait in the lobby. On the open trip that wait runs from 10:00 to 11:00, with the exact time from the guide the evening before.
Nothing else is asked of you.

If the boat cannot sail
One promise comes before any money moves. If King Cirox 2 cannot leave on your dates, through a breakdown or because the harbour master or the national park keeps it in port, you sail the same dates on another phinisi of the same class or higher, and pay nothing extra. Rather not board a different boat? Your money comes back in full within 14 days.
You choose, in writing, and you hear about it from us before you hear it anywhere else.
The promise covers the boat, not the route. Once the trip is under way, the weather, the currents and decisions by the park or the port authorities can change the order of stops or replace one. The boat's booklet says the itinerary may change with the sea, the weather and the agreement of the group on board. A changed route is part of sailing in a national park, and it is not a cancellation.
Read this clause before you pay the deposit.
Two payments, one due date
Two payments: 50 per cent to hold the booking, then the rest, which falls due 30 days before departure. Book with fewer than 30 days to go and you pay the full amount at once.
Every price we quote includes VAT at 11 per cent, so the figure on the quote is the figure you pay, apart from payment fees. Park fees, rangers and anything you buy on board are separate and paid as they come. Water, tea and coffee from the dispenser beside the glass-door fridge are not among them; those are in the fare.
For a charter, the deposit is calculated on the band price plus any extra guests above fifteen. For the open trip, it is calculated per bunk or per person. Inside one guest band the charter price does not move with headcount, so one guest dropping out does not lower it.
The deposit, balance and refund rules on this page apply to every booking made through this site: the table below, and the cancellation rules at the foot of this page.
Read the table, then pay.
| Deposit | 50 percent of the total |
| Balance | 30 days before |
| Inside 30 days of departure, the full fare is due at booking | |
| Children | A child under 3 sails free with a parent |
| Prices include 11 percent VAT · Each guest's passport details are due 7 days before sailing |
Paying from abroad
Eight ways to pay, so you can use whichever costs you least. A credit card payment link, with its fee printed on the invoice ahead of payment. Wise and Revolut, for transfers from a foreign account. PayPal, which adds 7.2 per cent. QRIS for Indonesian bank apps, Alipay, and WeChat Pay through a payment partner. Bank transfer in rupiah.
Card payments are processed through Stripe and Airwallex, and Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. We never ask for card details over WhatsApp or email; a payment link is the only way we take a card.
Every invoice comes from PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, NIB 1805260128363, the company behind this booking desk. Check that name on the invoice before you pay. If a message asks you to pay a private person or a different company for a trip on King Cirox 2, stop and write to us first.
Once the money lands, you receive a receipt in the same thread, with the amount, the method and what remains due.
Payment — all methods available

Moving a date, or calling it off
Change first, because it is cheaper. A new date costs nothing when you ask a month or more ahead, 30 days being the line; IDR 500,000 when you ask 14 to 29 days ahead; and at 13 days or fewer it becomes a cancellation.
Cancelling 60 days or more before departure returns 50 per cent of the fare. Between 30 and 59 days, 25 per cent. Inside 30 days, nothing is returned.
Refunds are paid within 14 days of the cancellation.
Travel insurance is the answer to the risks these rules do not cover: illness, a missed connection, a family emergency. We recommend it for every guest and do not sell it.
A child under 3 pays no fare, so there is nothing to refund; from 3 they follow the same rules as adults. The table below shows every threshold in one place.
| Notice | Refund |
|---|---|
| 60 days or more | 50 % |
| 30 to 59 days | 25 % |
| 29 days or less | 0 % |
| Notice | Fee |
|---|---|
| 30 days or more | Free |
| 14 to 29 days | IDR 500,000 |
| 13 days or less | Treated as a cancellation |
If we cancel, you get 100 per cent of your payment back · Any refund reaches you within 14 days.
FAQ
How far ahead should I book?
There is no fixed rule, but the park is busiest in July, August and late December, so those dates need the earliest booking. Gresik bunks sell one at a time, so a date can lose its bunks before its cabins. Ask us what is still free on your date before you decide how long to wait.
Do I pay everything up front?
No: 50 per cent first, and the remainder 30 days before departure.
Can I pay in US dollars or euros?
Our prices are in rupiah, with an approximate dollar figure beside them for reference. You can pay from a dollar or euro account through the card link, Wise, Revolut or PayPal, and the conversion happens on your side. PayPal adds 7.2 per cent; the card link shows its fee on the invoice. Bank transfer is in rupiah only.
What do you need from me before sailing?
Passport details for every guest a week before departure, for the park tickets and the guest list, plus flight times and the hotel for the pickup. Tell us about allergies, diets and anyone who cannot swim at the same time.
Is the replacement-boat promise in my booking terms?
Yes. Every booking made through this site carries it: if a breakdown or a port or park order stops King Cirox 2, you get a phinisi of the same class or higher on your dates at no extra cost, or your money back within 14 days.
