King Cirox 2 Phinisi
A one-day private boat trip in Komodo on King Cirox 2: a sample day you set with us
Updated 11 October 2026
A full-day charter gives your group the whole of King Cirox 2 from the morning pickup to the return to Labuan Bajo. For a group of one to five it costs IDR 30,750,000 (≈ USD 1,887). The boat's booklets print no fixed day route, so our sample is Kelor, a ranger walk on Rinca and snorkelling at Manjarite, with the boat back in Labuan Bajo before sunset.
A sample, not a printed route
The boat's booklets print a price for a full day on this boat and no route at all. So the day below is a sample, three stops long, and we agree the final version with you in writing before you pay the deposit.
The sample runs in this order. Pickup at your hotel, or at LBJ, for the run to the harbour. Kelor first, for the short steep climb and the view over the bay. Then Rinca, where a park ranger walks you along a trail in dragon country; wear closed shoes and carry water. Lunch on board. Snorkelling off the long wooden pier at Manjarite in the afternoon. Then the run home: the sample has you back in Labuan Bajo before sunset, with the drop-off at your hotel.
Rinca and Manjarite can swap places if the day needs it. We have built the sample around stops that sit within reach of town, so more of the day goes on land and in the water than on passage.
No clock times are printed beyond that, and we will not invent them. Tell us your flight times and we fit the day around them.
Day 1
| What happens | Sailing from previous stop | Have ready | |
|---|---|---|---|
| · | Labuan Bajo — Hotel / airport pickup to harbour | — | soft bag, not a hard suitcase |
| · | Kelor Island trek (hill with a 360° view) | 50–70 min | sturdy sandals or shoes |
| · | Rinca Island ranger walk, Komodo dragons | 60–90 min | closed shoes, water |
| · | Lunch aboard | — | |
| · | Snorkelling at Manjarite (long wooden pier) | 60–90 min | reef-safe sunscreen; own fins if you want them |
| · | Back in Labuan Bajo before sunset, hotel drop-off | 60–90 min |
Tide and wind decide whether these stops trade places: Rinca ⇄ Manjarite.
Treat the times as planning figures, not a timetable; the sea sets the real ones. The pickup is the one time we hold ourselves to.
How far each leg runs
Three stops in one day means three legs out and one home. The table below gives the range for each leg; some come from park norms, others are estimates, because no cruising speed is printed for this boat.
Padar and Pink Beach sit further south than any stop in the sample. You can ask for them, and on a private charter the route is yours to shape. Padar is a long run each way, longer than the runs to Kelor and Manjarite together, and every hour spent sailing is an hour not spent on a trail or in the water.
Call it the honest limit of a day on a phinisi: the day is short and the passages are long. If one day is all you have and Padar is the point, the 2D1N puts Padar on the second morning, after a night on board, instead of at the far end of a single long day.
The map below shows where the sample's three stops lie. Nothing on it is drawn to scale for timing; use the table for that.
| From | To | Minutes | Confidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Labuan Bajo | Kelor | 50–70 | Verified |
| Kelor | Rinca | 60–90 | Estimate |
| Rinca | Manjarite | 60–90 | Estimate |
| Manjarite | Labuan Bajo | 60–90 | Estimate |

The price of a day, by band
A full day is priced per boat, by guest band. On the current rate card, valid to the end of 2026, one to five guests pay IDR 30,750,000 (≈ USD 1,887), six to ten pay IDR 33,750,000 (≈ USD 2,071), and eleven to fifteen pay IDR 37,000,000 (≈ USD 2,270). Above fifteen, each extra guest adds IDR 1,250,000 (≈ USD 77). The 2027 booklet, valid January to July 2027, prints IDR 32,500,000 (≈ USD 1,994) for the smallest band.
Per head the sums fall fast. Ten guests on the current card pay IDR 3,380,000 (≈ USD 207) each; fifteen pay IDR 2,470,000 (≈ USD 152) each.
The fare includes free pickup, lunch and the meals of the day, water, tea and coffee, masks and snorkels, the canoe, the crew, and Starlink Wi-Fi on board. It does not include the park entrance fee of IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor, the ranger at Rinca, a local guide, or photo and video documentation. The last two are paid extras on request, as on every private charter.
The canoe comes on a day charter too, for the calm water off Manjarite's long pier.

One day or two?
In the smallest band a 2D1N costs IDR 37,500,000 (≈ USD 2,301), against IDR 30,750,000 (≈ USD 1,887) for the day. The gap between them is what a night on board adds to the bill.
To the trip it adds an evening and a morning: dinner on board, then a day that begins on board instead of at the harbour. The 2D1N route reaches Padar, Komodo Island, Pink Beach and Manta Point on day two, none of which is in the one-day sample. Your cabins are part of the charter either way; on a day trip you simply do not sleep in them.
The day trip wins in two cases. When your time in Labuan Bajo is fixed at one free day between flights. And when your group wants the boat for an occasion, a birthday or a team outing, more than for distance. The dining table and the roof deck work the same on a day trip as on a three-day one.
If neither applies, the extra night is the better buy per stop. Send us your dates and headcount and we price both.
FAQ
Can we change the stops on a day charter?
Yes. The day is a sample, agreed with you in writing before the deposit; Rinca and Manjarite already swap when the day needs it, and other stops can be priced in.
Will we see Komodo dragons on a one-day trip?
The sample includes a ranger-guided walk on Rinca, where the dragons live wild. Sightings are likely but never guaranteed, because they are wild animals and the park is not a zoo. The ranger fee is paid on the island and is not in the charter fare, alongside the park entry of IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor for the day.
Is lunch included on the day trip?
Yes, cooked on board by the chef, with free-flowing water, tea and coffee.
What time does a day charter start?
The booklets print no clock times for the full day, so we set the pickup with you when we agree the route. Tell us when your flight lands or leaves and where you are staying. The bats at Kalong fly after sunset, so they belong to the overnight routes and not to the day sample. We confirm the pickup time and the order of stops in writing before you pay the deposit, and the free pickup collects you from your hotel or the airport.
